The Bible warns that perilous times shall come--2 Timothy 3:1-5. Well, they are here. Let's pay attention to what Scripture says about this.
Every line in verses one to five contains words describing people who have separated self from God. Words like boastful, proud, unholy, slanderous, conceited, treacherous, and phrases, like lovers of themselves, lovers of money, without self-control, and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God (verses 1-4) all tell a story that is visibly on the surface today. But even more important is what verse 5 says: Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. This is the point of separation and God will use it to effect, not because God wants us to be divided but because, He will separate truth from falsehood, and fact from fiction.
But should you have a 'grace defense,' this is what the Word says:
"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! ..." -Romans 6:1-2. Scripture further says in Isaiah 26:10:
"But when grace is shown to the wicked,
they do not learn righteousness;
even in a land of uprightness they go on
doing evil and do not regard the majesty of the
That is the problem, "they do not regard the majesty of the LORD." The separation will come with regret and a lot of sorrow for those who trample the Sovereign and everlasting name of God--a most serious matter!
