Joe Biden is a candidate of opportunity. Everything appears right for him to be in the 2020 presidential race and to win. He is not a candidate of opportunism, but of opportunity, and that picture will only enlarge.
It is amazing to watch the transformation, from a man who in his previous runs for the presidential candidacy did not even leave the ground, to one who appears ready to become the next president of the United States.
Timing! Timing can be a result of several factors, some visible, others not so much. But one thing is obvious, since his win in the South Carolina Democratic Primary about two weeks ago, and of course with subsequent wins in the following Super Tuesdays, up to and including the March 17, 2020 Super Tuesday, Mr. Biden has grown increasingly confident. This can be seen in his speeches to supporters and to the nation covering different topics, most important right now being his address to the nation on the coronavirus crisis. Seeing the quality of the content and delivery of his speeches, he seems to have suddenly overcome his stutter and what might be called the folksy tenor of his utterances. His team is obviously doing a good job of preparing him and he appears to be adjusting faster than many would imagine, in preparation for the presidency.
